Starburst

It's Monday again, and that means that we start another week of homework. This can be a daunting task for both parent and child. This is the first year of having to do homework with Ryan. He started 1st grade this year, so he has nightly assignments that he must finish before Friday. It didn't go so well the 1st week of school, so in an effort to curb homework complaining, crying, whining, ect... I decided to find something that would be some sort of deterrent for this kind of behavior....

Ryan LOVES Starburts, so we made a starburts jar. No whining, crying, or complaining about homework = 1 Starburst(sometimes more...depending on the amount of homework), but it has made my evenings much more relaxed and stress-free while trying to help him with worksheets or reading.

I also found bracelets that are made out of the wrappers, so I might start saving the wrappers for myself:-)
